3-Step Setup Guide: Activate Your Workflow
Setting up a Triggered Merge workflow is simple, leveraging tools you already trust within Salesforce.
Step 1: Configure the Apsona Merge Action
Ensure your Merge Action is correctly set up with the right data source, templates, and delivery method (Email, Salesforce Files, etc.).
Crucially, you must retrieve the Action ID URL. This is the unique endpoint that Salesforce will call to initiate the merge for this specific action.

Step 2: Create the Salesforce Outbound Message
The Outbound Message acts as the secure bridge between Salesforce Flow and the Apsona Merge Engine.
- Navigate to Setup → Outbound Messages.
- Paste the Action ID URL (from Step 1) into the Endpoint URL field.
- Crucial Security Step: Check the Send Session ID box. This ensures the merge runs with the authenticated user’s permissions.
Step 3: Build the Salesforce Flow Trigger
Finally, define the business logic that fires the Outbound Message.
- Create a Record-Triggered Flow (we recommend running it After Save).
- Define the trigger conditions (e.g., Record Is Updated, and
StatusEquals ‘Sent’). - Add an Action element and select the Outbound Message you created in Step 2.
